The work of the Upazila Education Office is to implement all the activities of the Department of Primary Education under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Located in the Upazila Parishad, this office oversees the management and academic functions of all government primary schools controlled by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Implements all activities of higher authorities including preparation of school development plans, provision of teachers' salaries and other financial benefits, pensions, promotion of various types of information and data. It also provides non-departmental work such as preparation and renewal of voter lists, EPI, assistance in programs and assistance in various programs of the Upazila Parishad.
